Parent Meeting Recap
Hi Parents,
Here is a recap of the parents meeting.
We will practice unless it's thundering/lightning, or raining too hard to see the bottom of the pool. We will communicate any practice or meet cancellations via Remind 101. Please do not not show up for practice or a meet if we do not send a message announcing a cancellation. We will often wait 5-10 minutes before a scheduled event to make a weather decision as Georgia weather changes quickly.
Swimmers are not allowed to use the tennis courts.
On swim meet mornings we have a lighter practice, and the swimmers get juice and donuts at the end of practice.
No Friday practices.
Parents, you are required to volunteer for 4 half meets during the season. This is a requirement for your child to participate on the swim team. Sign up early as the most wanted jobs go quickly. We will assign jobs to anyone who does not sign up and expect you to be there. We will open the volunteer signup tab on May 23. We will send out an email and a note on Remind 101 when it is open.
To sign up for volunteer positions and RSVP for a swim meet, go to the schedule and by each meet there will be two green tabs. One will say Job Signup and the other will say Meet Signup. Follow the prompts for each tab for each meet to sign up. Swimmers must RSVP for each meet the Tuesday before that meet so we can build the meet events.
We need some parent help! -We are looking for a concessions coordinator. This will be a family in charge of running the concession stand at our two home meets. This will satisfy all volunteer requirements.
Swimmers in the 6 and under age group will need to be able to swim the length of the pool in order to race in a meet. It is ok if they have to pause and grab a lane rope. The coaches are here to teach your kids freestyle and backstroke. They must be comfortable in the water and able to swim.
Please make sure you familiarize yourself with our website. There is a plethora of information that will be useful to you, especially if you are new. There is a full description of how meets run, the different volunteer positions available, how to write the events on their arm, ect.
For swim meets, all swimmers need to have their name and age on the back of their right shoulder. All swimmers should follow the format described on the site to write their events, heat, and lane on their arm.
Swimmers 10 and under are required to be in the bullpen 5-7 events prior to their race. It is the parents responsibility to get them there. We do not hold coaches or coordinators responsible for swimmers who have missed their meets, and we will not track down kids to bring them to the bullpen.
Swimmers 11 and up need to be behind their race block 3 events prior. There will be an event board on the clubhouse deck that shows you the Event and Heat number, as well as an announcer.
Don't hesitate to ask us any questions you may have. We're looking forward to a fun season!!
Paige and Kim
